Unobstructed 360° view: north to the town’s reddish walls and cathedral tower, east across the pine carpet of the Sierra, south to the jagged Montes Universales.

Drop into the quiet valley of the Río Guadalaviar on a pine-needle path, passing limestone cliffs favoured by climbers and the photogenic stone bridge of Cerradura.

Sink into a wooden bench under stone vaults and reward yourself with local jamón de Teruel, marinated mushrooms and a chilled Rubielos lager.

Stroll the illuminated medieval walls for a last look over the ochre rooftops and the Sierra ridge you conquered, glowing pink in the setting sun.
